Waking Up On The Toilet® Writing Contest Official Contest Rules: Students currently enrolled in grades 6 through 12 as of the date of entry and who reside within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia are eligible to enter the Waking Up On The Toilet® Writing Contest (the "Contest"). Contest is sponsored by Waking Up On The Toilet®, Inc.. Waking Up On The Toilet®, Inc. is the administrator of the Contest and is responsible for the fulfillment of the publication. Contest entrants should look solely to Waking Up On The Toilet®, Inc. with any questions, comments or problems related to the Contest. Students are not eligible to enter if they, or members of their households and/or immediate family members (defined as mother, father, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, brother and sister) are employed by the Sponsors, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, or subsidiaries or their advertising, promotions or public relations agencies. Contest is void where prohibited. Subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Contest begins on October 31, at 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time and ends on August 31, at 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time. To enter, students must write an experience that gives their own meaning to Waking Up On The Toilet. Entries can be up to 250 words in length. Students must complete the Contest entry form and have a parent/guardian sign it. A completed and signed Contest entry form must be securely attached or given to a Waking Up On The Toilet®, Inc. representative. A teacher may submit entries on behalf of his/her class, or students may send in individual entries on their own. Limit one entry per person . All submissions become the property of Waking Up On The Toilet®, Inc. and will not be returned. Students may also go to www.wakinguponthetoilet.com for additional information and to print a copy of the Contest rules and pursuant to the judging criteria set forth below, and selection of an entry as a sample does not indicate that such sample is or may be a winning entry. Entrants further acknowledge and understand that their entries may be selected for posting as a sample on a date after the actual date of submission. Judging: Entries will be divided into two adolescent categories and judged only against other entries in their level. Each piece will be judged on creativity (50%), grammar (25%), and spelling (25%). The winners will be notified October 15 via mail, telephone, or e-mail that, subject to verification, they are winners. If a selected entrant cannot be reached after a reasonable effort has been made, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, an alternate winner may be selected. By entering and participating in the Contest, each entrant warrants that his/her entry is original, and that it does not infringe upon the rights of any other party. Further, each entrant agrees that his/her entry will not contain any matgerial that is libelous, slanderous, inaccurate, false, incomplete, patently offensive, illegal, pornographic, obscene or potentially dangerous or harmful in any way. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Each winner (or winner's parent/legal guardian if the the winner is a minor) may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Publicity within fourteen (14) days of notification, or an alternate winner may be selected. Deadline: All entries must be postmarked by August 31. Prizes: One adult grand prize winner will receive a cash award of $5,000.00. One adolescent grand prize winner in the age category of 14-17 will receive a cash award of $1,000.00. One adolescent grand prize winner in the age category of 11-13 will receive a cash award of $1,000.00. Limitation on Liability/Disclaimer/Other Requirements: All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of Sponsors, whose decisions shall be final and binding in all respect, including without limitation, decisions regarding eligibility, winners, and the interpretation of terms in these official rules. Excerpt where prohibited by law, by entering this Contest, each entrant consents to the use of his/her name, voice, picture, likeness and biographical data and/or any other information contained in his/her entry, including, without limitation, his/her creative writing, in advertising, promotional and marketing materials by Sponsors and the Sponsor Affiliates (defined below) in all media now known or hereafter discovered without additional compensation, notice, review or approval. Sponsors further reserve the right to edit and/or publish entrants' creative writing, including, with out limitation, on the Web Site. All entrants further acknowledge that if they are chosen as a winner, certain of their personally identifying information may be disclosed to third parties a least as required by law, including, without limitation, on a winners' list Sponsors are not responsible for any computer, telephone, electronic, Internet hardware or software, or any human or technical failures, malfunctions, corrupt transmissions, Internet accessibility, availability or technical error, or unauthorized human intervention, inaccurate capture of entry or their information or the failure to capture any such information. Further, neither Sponsors nor the Sponsor Affiliates are responsible for any lost, late, illegible, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete or postage-due mail or e-mail. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. Sponsors are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Web Site users, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with the Contest, and assume no responsibility for any error, deletion, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation or transmission, technical error, human error, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to the Web Site. Any person who supplies false information, enters by fraudulent means, or is otherwise determined to be in violation of these official ruse in an attempt to obtain any prize may forfeit the opportunity to be published and may be prosecuted to fullest extent of the law. Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Web Site, or to be acting in violation of these official rules. Sponsors reserve the right to seek damages from any person deliberately attempting to undermine the operation of the Contest in violation of criminal and civil law. Sponsors' failure to enforce any term of the Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Sponsor is not responsible for damage to participants' or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest. If the Contest in not capable of running as planned because of, but not limited to, infection by computer worms, bugs, viruses, tampering, fraud, technical failures, human error or any other causes which Sponsors, in their sole opinion, deem could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of this Contest. Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, modify, terminate or suspend the Contest and select the winners from entries received prior to the action taken or as otherwise may be deemed fair and equitable by Sponsors. Each entrant agrees not to knowingly damage or cause interruption of the Contest; prevent others from using the Contest; or obtain or modify another user's account information without his/her consent.
